Sector: healthcare & practices

The waiting room is full. That's no time for your computer to falter.

In a practice the schedule is tight and your patients' records are central. We make sure your software, eHealth connections and devices are there when your consultations start, and that patient data stays protected.

A day at the practice

A consultation day

From the first patient to the last appointment: where IT makes the difference in a practice, and what we keep an eye on in the background.

Your software supplier remains responsible for the medical software. We take care of the workstations, the network and the backup around it, and coordinate with them.

  1. 1
    Before the first appointment

    Workstations ready, updates already done

We schedule updates and restarts outside your consultation hours. Whoever logs in finds a workstation that simply starts up.

  2. 2
    Reception

Patient checked in with eID and eHealth

Card readers and eHealth certificates are monitored, so an expired certificate does not only come to light when the patient is at the desk.

  3. 3
    Consultation

Every care provider with their own login

Signing in with a personal login and MFA, and a screen that locks when you leave the room. That way you know who opened which record.

  4. 4
    Home visit

    The record comes along, encrypted

A laptop or tablet with an encrypted drive and secure access to your practice software. If the device goes missing, we wipe it remotely.

  5. 5
    After the last patient

    Backup and closing

Practice data is backed up encrypted, and at fixed intervals we restore a backup as a test. For an urgent outage outside office hours there is the emergency line.

Time for the patient, not for the computer

Your practice software, eHealth connections and devices should simply work. We keep an eye on them, so a consultation does not start with a frozen PC.

Privacy and security

The basics for a practice with patient data

What we check first in every practice. How much of it is in order at your practice today?

Access to records

  • A personal login for every care provider, including at reception
  • Permissions by role: doctor, therapist, reception or trainee
  • Access for people who leave, closed straight away

Signing in

  • MFA on email, admin accounts and cloud practice software
  • Screens that lock when nobody is in front of them

Devices

  • Encrypted drives on laptops and PCs
  • Updates within a fixed period, outside consultations
  • Devices you can wipe remotely

Backup and recovery

  • An encrypted backup that is separate from the network
  • A recovery test in the past year
  • An agreed recovery time for your practice data

eHealth and connections

  • eHealth certificates and card readers monitored
  • Reports and results through secure channels, not ordinary email
  • Guest wifi in the waiting room separated from the practice network

This list covers the technical basics. Which legal and professional conduct rules apply to your practice is explained by the eHealth platform, the Data Protection Authority or your professional body. We do not give legal advice.

Questions from practices like yours

We work with the suppliers of the common medical packages and follow their requirements for workstations, network and backup. If something needs to be coordinated with the supplier, we do that for you.
